Aaditya Thackeray seeks postponement of MPSC mains exam until V Radha panel submits report.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray on Friday demanded that the Maharashtra Public Service Commission's Mains Exam scheduled for next month be postponed until the panel formed to recommend comprehensive reforms in the recruiting body gives it a report. In a letter to Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Thackeray said candidates who may suffer due to the postponement of the examination, particularly those who may become ineligible due to the age limit, should be granted appropriate age relaxation.

"The examinations should be postponed until the V Radha Committee submits its report and the recommendations of the Committee are properly and effectively implemented," Thackeray said in his letter.

The V Radha panel has been currently holding talks with stakeholders. The former Maharashtra minister urged the Governor to take an appropriate decision in the interest of the candidates. This will help restore the candidates' confidence in the Maharashtra Public Service Commission and its functioning and ensure equal justice and opportunity for all candidates, he said. Thackeray also said the MPSC chairman should be asked to resign and action be taken against him. MPSC aspirants have been protesting in the state over exam paper leaks.
