PU conducts first Ph.D. Admission Test after new UGC Regulations

NEW DELHI, FEB 24: Patna University has conducted the first Ph.D. Admission Test (PAT) as per the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M Phil/ Ph.D. Degrees) Regulations, 2016.

Nearly 3,000 candidates of different faculties took part in the Ph.D. entrance exam being conducted after a gap of five years with, candidates who had cleared the exam as per the old regulations were also asked to apply fresh for the examination.

However, exemptions were given to teachers having two years of experience and two published research papers on their name. Those who have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) were also given exemption.
