Rajasthan board to conduct Class 10 exams twice from 2026-27 academic session

The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) has announced that it will hold two Class 10 board exams from the academic year 2026-27. The move aimed at reducing examination stress and providing additional opportunity to improve scores.

According to the official notification, the RBSE will include two Class 10 board exams, where the first test will be compulsory and the second will be held to improve marks in up to three subjects.

The decision was announced by Madan Diwawar, Rajasthan School Education and Panchayati Raj minister. As per the new decision, Class 10 students will appear for the first RBSE board examination as a compulsory attempt.

Notably, students who qualify in this examination will subsequently be eligible to take the second examination to improve their marks in up to three subjects.

Rajasthan 10th board exam 2026

The first Class 10 board exam 2026 is expected to be held in February - March, while the second exam will be conducted in May - June. Both the exams will be based on Class 10 syllabus and will have similar exam pattern, and marking scheme.

The notification read that the 2nd examination is aimed to provide students with an additional chance to improve their scores without having to wait until the next academic session.

Those who are satisfied with their first-examination performance can choose not to take the second examination, while students seeking better marks can appear in up to three subjects.

“The system is expected to particularly benefit students whose performance in one or more subjects is affected by examination stress, illness or an unexpectedly poor performance on the day of the examination,” the notification said.

Students appearing in both the examinations, their results will be calculated on the basis of their better performance between the two attempts. As per the eligibility, students who qualify in the first board exam will only be allowed to appear in the second examination.
