Rajasthan CM announces distance education scheme for girls, RPSC government college recruitment

Ashok Gehlot, Rajasthan's chief minister, announced that 60 out of 88 new colleges opened in the present financial year in Rajasthan are girls' colleges.
NEW DELHI: Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot, on Friday, announced that the state government is introducing a distance education scheme for girls to help girls and women who cannot go to college and university regularly to help them achieve higher education. The minister also announced the recruitment of 1000 posts in government colleges through the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC). The decision was taken during a review meeting of the higher education department, which he attended.
"Girl Child Distance Education Scheme is being introduced to connect such girls and women who cannot go to college and university regularly due to any reason, to connect them with higher education," Gehlot said in a tweet. He further said that Rajasthan is making its mark among the leading states of the country in the field of girl child education.

Gehlot also called for the celebration of an "entrance festival" in government colleges so as to attract more youth to government colleges. After the review meeting, the chief minister pointed out that the number of colleges in Rajasthan has doubled. He said that developing infrastructure, increasing the availability of faculty and improving the education quality is the priority of the state government. He informed that about 211 new government colleges have been opened during the tenure of the present government.
According to Gehlot, 60 out of 88 new colleges opened in the present financial year in Rajasthan are girls' colleges. The government has also ordered the up-gradation of 24 colleges in the state and has decided to upgrade 49 government colleges in total, he said.

The minister said that the state finance department of Rajasthan has allowed for the recruitment of 1000 posts in government colleges. The notification regarding the government college recruitment is to be issued by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) by June 2022, Gehlot said. In case of transfers, he directed to prioritise widows, abandoned, single women, disabled persons and those suffering from a serious illness.
राजकीय महाविद्यालयों में 1000 पदों पर भर्ती के लिए वित्त विभाग द्वारा सहमति दे दी गई है तथा सभी औपचारिकताओं को पूर्ण कर जून, 2022 तक राजस्थान लोक सेवा आयोग द्वारा भर्ती की अधिसूचना जारी कर दी जाएगी।
