Republic Day 2022: States, union territories to display tableaux in this year’s parade
Republic Day 2022: Check the list of states and union territories to participate in this year’s parade and list of chief guests from the last 6 years.

NEW DELHI: In this year’s Republic Day parade, 12 states and union territories have been selected for showcasing their tableaux. Overall, 21 tableaux including 12 states and UTs and nine ministries will display their tableaux in Republic Day 2022 celebrations, according to ANI.

12 states and UTs that have been reportedly selected for displaying tableaux include Gujarat, Maharashtra, Arunachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Meghalaya, Jammu and Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Haryana, and Uttarakhand.
Themes of tableau
- Meghalaya tableau will show 50 years of statehood and its tribute to women.
- Gujarat tableau will show tribal revolutionaries
- Goa tableau will display historical and natural attractions.
- Haryana tableau will showcase sports
- Uttarakhand tableau will showcase progressive development
- Arunachal Pradesh will display resistance of people
- Karnataka tableau will show handicrafts
- Jammu and Kashmir tableau will display development
- Chhattisgarh tableau will be based on Godhan Nayay Yojna theme
- Uttar Pradesh tableau will showcase skill development
- Punjab tableau will display contribution of state to independence
- Maharashtra tableau will show biodiversity

Chief guests at Republic Day parade
There will be no chief guest at the Republic Day 2022 parade due to COVID-19 third wave. Last year too, there was no chief guest due to second wave.
