RGSOIPL announces admissions to LLB and LLM programmes in IPR

New Delhi: Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law (RGSOIPL) has announced IPR admissions for the admission year 2018. The law school functioning under Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT-KGP) offers admissions into the undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes with specialization in Intellectual Property course. The application form for admissions into both the law programmes can be filled till March 28, 2018. The applicants will need to register for the RGSOIPL 2018 application process by providing their email id and mobile number.

Application mode and format

The candidates will need to apply and submit the application forms in online mode only as the law school will not entertain any other mode of application. Before submitting the form, candidates will also have to remit a fee for the same, which are Rs. 2500 for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 1250 for those belonging to SC/ST category. Further, the women applicants are exempted from payment of the application fees.

Eligibility

Candidates interested in LLB (Hons.) with IPR can fill the application only if they have a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology/Medicine or equivalent programme. Those with a First Class Master’s Degree in Science/Pharmacy or equivalent programme can also apply for the UG law programme. Further, the candidates having a First Class MBA Degree with any of the above mentioned Graduation Degree will also be considered eligible for LLB admissions.

Candidates interested in LLM in IPR need to have a First Class Five-year Integrated Law Degree or a Three-year LLB Degree.

Selection Process

The IIT Kharagpur led law school will conduct an All India Common Entrance Examination (CET) on April 29, 2018. The two-hour duration entrance test will be held online beginning at 10:00 am. The candidates can appear for the test in any of the seven test cities including Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Raipur and Visakhapatnam. The choice of test centres, however are needed to be given at the time of filling the application form.

Those appearing in the test for UG law programme will have to attempt 200 questions of one mark each covering different topics from five subjects– English, Logical Reasoning, Mathematical Ability, Basic Sciences and Legal Aptitude.

Those appearing for PG law programme will have to answer the 120 objective-type questions covering all topics of Legal Aptitude paper.

Further, the candidates who have pursued their LLB (Hons.) in Intellectual Property Law from IIT Kharagpur, obtaining a CGPA of 8.5 and above are eligible for admission without appearing in the CET.
