SBI starts special recruitment drive for 1,538 posts for OBC, SC, ST candidates; apply by August 27

The State Bank of India (SBI) has started the registration for the recruitment of junior associate or SBI Clerk on its official website at onlinesbi.sbi.bank.in. The bank will fill a total of 1538 SBI clerk posts through the special recruitment drive.

The SBI clerk posts consist of customer support and sales positions at the SBI organisation.

Candidates can apply for SBI clerk posts through the official portal by August 27. Those aged between 20 and 28 must follow the eligibility criteria to apply for the SBI clerk posts.

Notably, the recruitment drive to apply for the backlog vacancies are only for the Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Caste (SC), and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates.

SBI Recruitment 2026: Eligibility, selection process

OBC category candidates can apply for the SBI posts by paying a requisite fee of Rs 750, while SC, ST students are exempted from paying the fee.

As per the eligibility criteria, any graduate aged between 20 and 28 years is eligible to apply for the SBI Clerk exam. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university. Those with an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) should verify their passing date.

Final-year students can apply provisionally but must complete their degree before joining. Candidates must have a basic computer literacy.

As per the guidelines, there is no fixed rule for number of attempts for the SBI clerk exam. Candidates can appear multiple times as long as they satisfy the eligibility criteria.

Interested and eligible candidates need to fill out the application form, upload required documents such as photographs and signatures, and pay the applicable fee.

According to the selection process, candidates have to appear for the prelims, mains, and the language proficiency test. They have to qualify each stage to be considered for the final recruitment.
