Separate modules for Classes 1–2 and 3–5 will be prepared to focus on practical classroom teaching
The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) is now working on new training modules to improve the teaching skills of primary school teachers. Separate modules will be prepared for Classes 1–2 and Classes 3–5 to provide more targeted and practical training for teachers.
In a recent post shared at the Education Department, Bihar X handle, it was informed that around 3.5 lakh teachers will be covered under this initiative aimed at improving classroom teaching and learning outcomes.
The programme will focus on activity-based learning, better classroom interaction, and effective teaching methods to improve basic learning in schools. By giving teachers better tools and training, the council aims to improve the quality of primary education.

SCERT training modules for primary teachers
“Once the modules are ready, they will be shared with teachers through training sessions, workshops, and other programmes. Teachers will be guided on how to use activity-based and practical methods in the classroom,” the post reads.
SCERT prepares the curriculum, training programmes, and study materials for school education. This new step is expected to help teachers and improve learning for students in their early school years.
Experts say such training helps teachers use better teaching methods and keep students more engaged in class. Similar steps have been taken in other states, where SCERT has introduced training courses and digital modules to improve teachers’ skills.
