Kerala: The general education minister V Sivankutty on Sunday came out against the practice of conducting entrance tests by some schools for admission in Class 1.
On February 6, the department issued a notification for the re-deployment of 278 mathematics and science graduate teachers.
The issue came to light a day after five students were arrested for the brutal ragging inflicted on a junior student at the Government College of Nursing, Kottayam.
The accused was arrested on Friday for allegedly touching the private parts of the 13-year-old student on January 27.
The block education officer has directed the Narayana E-Techno School located on Ambajogai Road to pay the fine immediately or shut down operations. The school principal did not respond to calls.
Kaizar was among the six accused people who had allegedly cheated World Education Mission, a Noida-based educational institution.
The chairman of the Maharashtra Minority Commission Pyare Ziya Khan on Tuesday visited the school at Patur after receiving complaints from some women teachers that they were facing harassment and threats.
