NEW DELHI: Schools are reopening in states such as Haryana, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana from February 1. Cities such as Pune and Bengaluru are also reopening schools.
Many schools across the country were closed during the past month and shifted to online learning due to the surge in COVID-19 cases in different parts of the country. The third wave of Covid has severely affected the education sector and students are facing the issue of learning loss according to various reports.

School Reopen: List of states reopening schools
At least four states are reopening schools for some classes from February 1.
Rajasthan School Reopen: According to new COVID-19 guidelines by the Rajasthan government , schools will reopen for Classes 10 to 12 from February 1 onwards. But offline classes will resume for Classes 6 to 9 only from February 10. Though schools will be opened, students will have the option to continue classes in online mode too.
School Reopen in Haryana: In Haryana , the state education minister Kanwar Pal announced the reopening of schools for Classes 10, 11 and 12 from February 1 onwards. According to the guidelines issued by the Haryana education department, only those students who got at least one vaccination in the age group of 15-18 will be allowed to attend physical classes in schools.

Tamil Nadu School Reopening: According to various media reports, schools and colleges in Tamil Nadu will reopen on February 1 for Classes 1 to 12 following all Covid protocols. But colleges being used as Covid care centres will not be allowed to open, said an order from the Tamil Nadu government.
Schools Reopen in Telangana: Owing to the declining Covid cases in Telangana , the state government has decided to reopen all educational institutions including schools and colleges from February 1.

School Reopen: Which cities are reopening schools?
Pune School Reopen: Schools in Pune will reopen on February 1, as per an announcement made by Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar. According to the new guidelines, Classes 1 to 8 will have half-day sessions and Classes 9 and 10 will follow school timing as before.
School Reopen in Bangalore: BC Nagesh, primary and secondary education minister of Karnataka announced the reopening of schools in Bangalore city from January 31 by following all the standard operating procedures.
