SJIM Bangalore celebrates 54th foundation day; honours first, second year rank holders

NEW DELHI: The St Joseph's Institute of Management (SJIM) Bangalore celebrated its 54th foundation day on March 24, 2023. Hemant Malik, CEO of ITC foods limited, was invited as the chief guest on the occasion. Director of the institute, Manoj D'Souza, dean Rajgopalan, Associate dean Lawrence, and student representative Rohit KC lit the traditional lamp to mark the commencement of the foundation day.
Events at SJIM 54th foundation day
An invocation dance was staged as the first cultural programme on the occasion. Malik then delivered the foundation day address, in which he touched upon the strategic and marketing aspects of the Fast- moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry. He also pointed out its immense consumer growth potential in India.

Director D'Souza said in his welcome address: "SJIM has continually been at the forefront of educational innovation. Founded in 1968, SJIM is Karnataka's oldest business school. This year, SJIM has been accredited by the National board of accreditation (NBA) and its PGDM degree has been recognised by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as equivalent to an MBA".
Following this, the event saw a citation and cash prize distribution ceremony. This year, the SJIM entrepreneurship award went to Desiri Naturals, for harnessing bulls for oil extraction, simultaneously helping farmers and rural women in earning fair prices for their efforts.
Towards the end of the event, rank holders of the first and second year courses were honoured by the institute. Forms of different Indian dances were staged after this, post which general secretary of student council, Rohith KC bid the vote of thanks.
