SLAT 2021 date to be revised for home proctored examination; Test structure changed

NEW DELHI: Symbiosis International University (SIU) has announced that it will revise the dates for Symbiosis Law Aptitude Test (SLAT) 2021. The test was earlier scheduled to be held on June 27, 2021, in more than 80 cities. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the mode for SLAT 2021 has also been changed from centre-based online test to online home proctored mode.

SLAT 2021 test structure revised

For home proctored SLAT, the authorities have changed the test structure by reducing the number of questions. Previously, SLAT consisted of 75 objective type questions. However, in the remote proctored mode, the number of questions have been reduced to 60. The test duration has also been reduced from 75 minutes to 60 minutes.

Writing Ability Test (WAT)

The writing ability test is conducted after the entrance test. The test duration for WAT will be 30 minutes. In this section, candidates will have to write a short essay on a given topic. The WAT round will be 20 marks. It will be evaluated separately by all law colleges of SIU, therefore, the scores of WAT will not be disclosed at the time of the declaration of the SLAT 2021 result. WAT along with Personal Interaction (PI) carries 50 per cent weightage in the selection process. The PI round will be held separately by each participating law school after the result declaration.

About SLAT 2021

It is a common entrance examination for law schools of SIU. The application form for SLAT 2021 will end on June 4, 2021. There are four law schools that participate in SLAT and offer BA LLB and BBA LLB programmes based on the entrance test score and PI and WAT rounds.
