SIU has introduced a work-study dual model that blends classroom education with paid industry internships, offering a minimum stipend of Rs 10,000 starting from the first year of admission.

Andhra Pradesh has launched Sricity International University (SIU) in Sri City, Tirupati district, with a focus on industry-integrated higher education and employability-driven learning.
The SIU was inaugurated by Nara Lokesh, Minister for Human Resource Development (HRD), IT, Electronics and Communications, and Real Time Governance (RTG), Government of Andhra Pradesh, in the presence of members of SIU’s Global Advisory Council, Governing Board and industry partners.
As per the official press release, SIU is introducing a “Work-Study Dual Model” in India aimed at improving graduate employability by combining academic learning with industry experience.
Under the model, students will spend nearly one-third of their time in classrooms and the remaining duration working as interns with industry partners. Students will receive a minimum monthly stipend of Rs 10,000 from the first year of study, while a four-year degree student is expected to graduate with more than two years of industry experience.
The university said its curriculum has been co-designed with industry partners and will be updated annually to align with changing industry and artificial intelligence-driven workforce requirements.
The institution has also established an incubation centre named “Station-S” to support entrepreneurship and startups on campus. According to SIU, nearly 10 startups have already started operations with support from Station-S and Gnan Circle Ventures, a Category-I venture capital fund.

Speaking at the launch event, Nara Lokesh said Andhra Pradesh aims to lead efforts to improve employability among students and said, “Our young people have the ability and the ambition; what they need is an education that connects directly to work. Andhra Pradesh is proud to lead the nation in solving this challenge.”
Furthermore, he added, “What makes this model possible is the extraordinary ecosystem of Sri City, where more than 200+ companies from over 30 countries operate across a wide range of industries. Few places in the country — or the world — bring industry and education together so closely. Students at SIU will learn and work alongside leading global companies right where they study, and Andhra Pradesh is proud to be home to an institution that turns this advantage into real opportunity for our young people.”
Srini Raju, Chairman of Sricity Education Foundation and SIU Governing Board, said students would graduate with industry exposure and employability skills.

Further, he added, “A four-year degree student graduates with 2+ years of real work experience, earned through paid internships from the very first year – and combined with a curriculum designed together with the industry, that makes our students highly employable. Beyond industry-aligned skills, we focus on building strong life skills and an entrepreneurial mindset, giving every student a firm foundation to build a career — or to create jobs for others.”
For the 2026-27 academic session, SIU has announced four undergraduate programmes, including BTech in Computer Science and Engineering, BTech in Advanced Manufacturing, BBA in Finance and Accounts, and BBA in Digital Media and Communications. Admissions for the programmes are currently open through the university’s official website.
