NEW DELHI: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct the SSC CGL skill test for the shortlisted candidates on September 15 and 16, 2021. According to the latest SSC CGL notice, there will be three modules in the SSC CGL skill test - data entry speed test (DEST), powerpoint presentation/generation of slides (MS Power Point), and spreadsheet (MS Excel). The SSC CGL skill test is the final stage of the SSC CGL recruitment process and candidates will be tested on the basis of SSC CGL English comprehension basic comprehension and writing ability and SSC CGL typing speed. SSC has released the SSC CGL skill test admit card for each zone.

Students need to carry SSC CGL skill test admit card along with the valid photo id proof to the SSC CGL exam centre. It is important to follow social distancing guidelines and carry COVID-19 essentials to the exam centre. Candidates are not allowed to take off their mask.
SSC CGL skill test: Data entry speed test (DEST)
The SSC CGL DEST is the SSC CGL typing test . Candidates will be given a master passage of 2000 key depressions and the total time duration of the test will be 15 minutes. They have to type only the equivalent number of words given in the master passage and the combination of alphanumeric keys followed by space is termed as one “Word”. For the SSC CGL typing test, the print out of the typed text will not be taken.

It is mandatory to choose English (United States) as an option for the English typing test/DEST.

For the candidates’ convenience, a demo video will be provided on the SSC official website.
SSC CGL skill test: Computer proficiency test (CPT)
For the computer proficiency test under SSC CGL skill test, candidates will be assessed with two modules: power point presentation/generation of slides (MS Power Point), and spreadsheet (MS Excel). Each module will be conducted for 15 minutes. In this test, the printout will be considered. It is important for candidates to familiarize themselves with Microsoft Office - 2007 and above.
