Symbiosis Institute of Design invites applications for BDes, MDes programmes; eligibility

SID Design Programme Admission: The BDes programme offers specialisations in communication design, industrial design, fashion design, and fashion communication.
NEW DELHI: Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) is inviting applications for its Bachelor of Design (BDes) and Master of Design (MDes) for the upcoming academic year. As per the institute, these programmes are designed to equip students with skills in various design disciplines. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the institute's official website, sid.edu.in.
The BDes programme is a four-year undergraduate degree that offers specialisations in communication design, industrial design, fashion design, and fashion communication. “The curriculum encourages students to experiment with various design approaches, building a versatile skill set that is adaptable to evolving industry needs,” the official press release read.
The MDes in user experience (UX) design is a two-year postgraduate degree programme that focuses on user-centred design, systems thinking, and innovation. The two-year postgraduate degree programme, offering 80 credits, is designed to cater to both recent graduates and working professionals interested in entering the highly sought-after field of UX/UI.
The institute informed that the programme will be delivered in a hybrid mode, combining online and offline classes. Graduates of the MDes programme will be prepared for roles such as UX Architect, Interface Designer, Web Designer, Game Designer, and more.

For the Bachelor of Design (BDes) programme

Candidates must have passed Class 12 in any stream (Science, Commerce, Arts, etc.) or an equivalent qualification.

Candidates must have completed a diploma approved by the State Board of Technical Education.

Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the final examination. The 5% relaxation applies to candidates from the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) categories.

For the Master of Design (MDes) programme

Candidates must have completed a Bachelor's Degree of a minimum 4-year duration in any specialisation, after Class 12 or an equivalent qualification, from any university or institute recognised by law in India.

Alternatively, candidates must have completed a full-time Diploma of a minimum 4-year duration in Design, Fine Arts, Applied Arts, or Architecture, after Class 12 or an equivalent qualification, from any university or institute recognised by law in India.

Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks or an equivalent grade. Candidates from SC, ST categories must have obtained 45% marks or equivalent grade.
