TNEA rank list 2026 out at tneaonline.org; counselling from July 13

The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Tamil Nadu, has released the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) rank list 2026. Candidates who registered for TNEA 2026 can now check the merit position through the official website, tneaonline.org.

To access the TNEA 2026 rank list, candidates have to log in using their registered email ID and password. The merit list has been prepared based on marks secured in the qualifying examination after applying the normalisation method prescribed by the authorities. The grievances with the merit list can be submitted by July 6.

Candidates whose names appear in the rank list will be eligible to participate in the TNEA 2026 counselling process for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes offered by participating colleges across Tamil Nadu.

How to check TNEA rank list 2026

Candidates can follow the steps given below to download the TNEA 2026 rank list.

• Visit the TNEA official website, tneaonline.org.
• Click on the “TNEA 2026 Rank List” link.
• Enter the registered email ID and password.
• The TNEA rank list PDF will appear on the screen.
• Download and save the rank list for future reference.

TNEA 2026 rank list preparation

According to the admission authorities, the engineering rank list has been prepared by reducing marks obtained in mathematics, physics, and chemistry to a base of 200.

Mathematics carried a weightage of 100 marks, while physics and chemistry together account for the remaining 100 marks.

For vocational stream candidates, the marks were converted to a base of 200 with the following:

• Related subjects carrying 100 marks, and
• Vocational subjects, including theory and practicals, carry another 100 marks.

TNEA 2026 tie-breaking rules

The authorities have also specified inter se merit rules for candidates securing the same marks. Below are the rules for tie-breaking

• Candidates with higher marks in mathematics will be ranked higher.
• If the tie remains, physics marks will be considered.
• Marks in the fourth optional subject will then be checked.
• Older candidates will get preference if the tie still continues.
• If necessary, the TNEA random number will be used to break the tie.

TNEA 2026 counselling schedule
