The UGC said, “The decision to form the zonal committees has been taken to fulfil the vision of the NEP 2020 and ensure that the benefits reach a large section of the aspirational youth in a time-bound manner. In order to facilitate the universities to develop a road map for the effective implementation of significant initiatives this decision was taken.”
The NEP 2020 is founded on the five guiding pillars -- access, equity, quality, affordability and accountability. It aims to prepare youth to meet the diverse national and global challenges of the present and the future.
