UGC NET 2026 registration ends tomorrow; candidates must keep photo, signature, ID proof and PG documents ready.

The National Testing Agency, NTA will close the extended window for applying online for University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test, UGC NET 2026 tomorrow, on May 23. The registration window was supposed to end on May 20, but NTA extended the deadline after considering multiple requests from aspirants.

As per the revised schedule, candidates can now submit the online application form till May 23, 2026, up to 10 am, while the last date for fee payment has been extended till 11:50 pm on the same day. The correction window will now remain open from May 25 to May 27, 2026. Eligible candidates should get themselves registered on the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
NTA has advised UGC NET June 2026 candidates to submit only one application form after carefully selecting their subject. Multiple applications will not be accepted and subject changes will not be allowed after submission.
Applications submitted after deadline will not be accepted.

Application fee: Candidates belonging to the General category are required to pay Rs 1,150, while the fee for General-EWS and OBC-NCL candidates is Rs 600. SC, ST, PwD and Third Gender candidates need to pay Rs 325. As per the revised schedule, the last date for fee payment is May 23, 2026, up to 11:50 pm. The application fee for UGC NET June 2026 can be paid online through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking or UPI.
In a separate notice, NTA introduced a one-time facilitation measure for visually impaired (VI) candidates who are unable to capture and upload a live photograph during the registration process. Such candidates may submit their live photograph through the designated email ID along with details including application number, candidate name and other relevant particulars. The agency clarified that this provision is meant only for visually impaired candidates facing genuine difficulties with the live photo capture feature on the registration portal.
