UP NEET cut-off for MBBS in government medical colleges rises for 3, drops for KGMU, others

King George's Medical University, Lucknow had the highest NEET cut-off of 1800 for MBBS admission in 2023, however, it was decreased to 2059 rank last year for the general category.

Try NowNEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh has the second-highest number of 35 government medical colleges in India offering 4,303 MBBS seats. The number of MBBS aspirants registered and qualified candidates in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) from UP, the most populous state in India, has been the highest in the last 3 years.
One of the top priorities of the UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government is to fulfill the ‘One district, one medical college’ vision. The state had only 18 medical colleges earlier. However, 17 medical colleges have been opened last year alone. Healthcare institutions have been set in around 64 districts, the UP CM had said.
Additionally, the state has 33 private medical colleges with 5,600 MBBS seats. As per the last year’s NEET UG registrations , the highest of 3,44,599 students registered for NEET, of which 3,34,983 appeared and 1,65,015 candidates qualified in the entrance exam.
NEET cut-offs rise for top UP medical colleges
The NEET MBBS cut-off for three government medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh have increased. The closing AIQ NEET rank in 2024 for Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow was 3956, LLRM Meerut stood at 5881, and SN Medical College, Agra was recorded at 7212.
