UP NEET PG Counselling 2026: KGMU, RMLIMS record highest closing rank for MD general medicine admissions

The highest closing rank for MD general medicine admissions in UP NEET PG 2025 round 1 counselling was 27 at King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS), Lucknow, and GSVM medical college, Kanpur, also recorded the high cut-offs at 33, and 49 respectively for MD general medicine admissions for general category candidates. The Uttar Pradesh National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2025 counselling round 1 cut-off saw MD, MS seats at government medical colleges close at some of the highest ranks.

Other autonomous medical colleges such as Rajarshi Dashrath Autonomous State Medical College, Ayodhya closed its post MBBS admissions for UR candidates at 153.

According to the UP NEET PG 2025 counselling round 1, Baba Raghav Das Medical College, Gorakhpur, recorded a closing rank of 88 for MD General Medicine under the UR category. The MS Obstetrics and Gynaecology admissions also closed at rank 243, while MS ENT closed at rank 646.

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will announce the NEET PG 2026 results on September 30. Candidates will be able to participate in the NEET PG counselling process once the results are declared.

The board will also announce the counselling schedule and college-wise closing ranks for admission to MD, MS and PG diploma programmes at various medical government and private colleges across the country.
