UP NEET UG Counselling 2025: No minority quota, fee capped at Rs 15.23 lakh for Greater Noida medical college

Enrol NowCandidates in the ongoing UP NEET UG 2025 counselling will not be required to pay a higher MBBS fee at the School of Medical Sciences and Research, Greater Noida. The Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET), Uttar Pradesh, has stated that the institute has not been granted Jain minority status as it did not apply under the prescribed procedure, and directed that only the government-approved fee structure will apply for MBBS admissions.
As per the official notice, under the July 24, 2025, government order, the tuition fee for Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in private non-minority medical colleges, including this institute, is set at Rs 15,23,183 per year. The order follows a recent notice by the college listing tuition fees of Rs 18.5–19.25 lakh per annum, citing minority status and reserving 50% of seats for Jain community candidates.
DMET stated that the college had not applied for minority status under the provisions of the August 28, 1999, government order, and therefore its request to reserve 50% MBBS seats for Jain minority candidates and revise fees was not approved.
“It is hereby informed to the general public that as of date, the School of Medical Sciences and Research, Greater Noida, has not been granted minority institution status by the Department of Medical Education, Government of Uttar Pradesh. Hence, for the academic session 2025-26, only the fee fixed as per the Government Order dated July 24, 2025, will be applicable for candidates taking admission to the MBBS course,” the official notice said.
UP NEET UG Counselling 2025: All 250 MBBS seats under open category
For the UP NEET counselling 2025, all 250 MBBS seats at the School of Medical Sciences and Research are listed under the open category. The Directorate has advised candidates to verify the official fee schedule before payment and to report any demand for excess charges.
The choice filling and locking process for UP NEET UG 2025 counselling began today, August 11, and will continue till August 13. The seat allotment result is scheduled for August 14. Candidates who receive allotments will be able to download their allotment letters and report to the allotted colleges from August 18 to 23, and again on August 25 and 26.
