The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) prelims results 2026 for over 5.01 lakh candidates on the official websites of UPSC at upsc.gov.in and upsconline.nic.in. A total of 13,343 candidates have qualified for the UPSC mains 2026. Candidates can download the UPSC CSE prelims scores by using login credentials, including application number and other details. The commission has withheld the result of one candidate. A total of 1,046 candidates have qualified the UPSC Prelims 2026 for IFS cadre, as per the official announcement.
The recruitment examination was conducted for 933 vacancies across the organisation. The selection process includes, preliminary, main examination, and personality test (interview). The authority released the preliminary examination answer key on May 28, 2026.
The UPSC prelims exam was held on May 24, 2026 in two shifts across 2,073 centres across the country. The examination comprised two papers. The first paper was objective in nature and featured multiple-choice questions, while the second paper carried a total of 400 marks and covered the subjects prescribed under the relevant provisions of the examination rules.
