Download EBookNEW DELHI: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued fresh rules for updating the OTR Profile in Civil Services Examination (CSE) and Indian Foreign Service Examination (IFS) application forms. The registration window to fill the UPSC IFS and CSE application forms will be closed on February 11, 2025.

Eligible candidates can fill the registration forms for UPSC CSE and IFS exams through the official website at upsc.gov.in.
Registered candidates will be able to make changes to their UPSC IFS and CSE applications from February 12 to 18, 2025. The authority is yet to announce the release date for UPSC 2025 admit cards.
The UPSC IFS and CSE prelim exams will be conducted separately on May 25, 2025. The IFS mains exam will take place on November 16. Whereas, the CSE Mains exam will be held on August 22, 2025.
The UPSC issued fresh rules for candidates who wish to implement changes to their OTR Profiles. The official notice by the UPSC reads: “In case, the candidate wants to effect any change in his/her OTR Profile (registration), it shall be allowed only once in the lifetime after the registration at OTR platform. The change in OTR profile (registration) data shall be available till the expiry of 7 days from the next day after the closure of the application window of the candidate’s first final application for any examination of the commission.”
UPSC IFS, CSE 2025 examination: Allowed changes
Candidates, who wish to make changes to their OTR Profile for IFS, and CSE applications, will only be able to edit certain information which includes:
- Name of the candidate
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Father’s, mother’s guardian’s name
- Minority status
- Class 10 board examination roll number

Candidates will not be allowed to change their email id from the UPSC IFS and CSE application form.
The UPSC also clarified that the candidates will only get a single chance to make changes to their OTR Profile after registration at the official platform. The changes can be made “till the expiry of 7 days from the next day after the closure of the application window on February 18, 2025,” as per the official notice.
The UPSC IFS and CSE 2025 selection process includes prelims, mains and interview.
