NEW DELHI - The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is conducting the CSE (Civil Services Examination) today. Candidates from all over Indian have appeared for the UPSC CSE 2020 preliminary exam. We are sharing here the UPSC IAS exam analysis for prelims so that candidates can know about the questions, weightage of topics, number of good attempts and difficulty level of the IAS exam 2020.

UPSC IAS is being conducted to recruit candidates for Grade A Gazetted Officers Post. The exam was earlier postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic. There were various petitions filed against the further postponement of the exam but the government was adamant to conduct it by following safety guidelines and taking precautionary measures.

UPSC CSE 2020 Highlights

  • The UPSC paper 2020 is being conducted for papers - GS 1 and GS 2.
  • Both the UPSC prelims 2020 question papers are objective-type in nature and will be conducted in offline mode.
  • Aspirants qualifying the UPSC prelims 2020 will be eligible to appear in the mains exam which is scheduled for January 08, 2021.
  • Around 10 to 11 lakh candidates filled the application form of UPSC CSE.

    Approximately, 5 to 5.50 lakh candidates appear for the exam, final data of appeared candidates will be revealed after the conclusion of the Civil Services exam.

UPSC CSE Prelims 2020 Analysis

  • UPSC followed the guidelines and the exam was conducted in a safer environment.
  • Questions were from the environment, history, political, arts and culture.
  • Current affairs questions were not covered.
  • As shared by few aspirants, the UPSC 2020 question paper for prelims was a bit difficult.
  • The current affairs were from the past 6-month period and questions were not from the COVID-19 period.
  • More conceptual and statement based questions were asked.
  • More questions were based on agriculture.
  • Paper was moderate to difficult and was actually the standards set by UPSC.
