UPSC to release CDS 1 notification 2019 on Oct 31; Apply till Nov 26

NEW DELHI, October 27: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will release the notification along with the application form of Combined Defence Services (CDS 1) exam on October 31, 2018. UPSC may release as many as 418 vacancies for CDS 1 (2019). Candidates can fill the application form till November 26, 2018. To apply for CDS 1 exam, candidates must be in the final year of graduation or must have completed graduation from recognised University/College/Institute. Candidates who are between 20 to 24 years of age can apply for CDS. However, there will be age relaxation for the reserved categories candidates.
Before filling CDS application form, candidates must keep some documents ready like scanned photograph (3KB to 40KB), signature (1KB to 40KB), mobile number, email id, any one photo - identity proof issued by State or Central Government like PAN card/Aadhaar card/Voter Id card/Passport/ Driving License and details of Visa/Debit/Credit card and Net Banking to pay the application fee.
The application form will be filled in two parts - part 1 and 2. In part 1, candidates will have to register and fill the basic details while in part 2, candidates will have to select the exam centres, upload the scanned photograph and signature, select the mode of payment and tick the declaration check-box.
To finally submit the application form, candidates will have to pay the application fee. The application fee for General and OBC male candidates will be Rs. 200 whereas the females (of all categories), SC/ST candidates will be exempted from fee payment. Candidates can pay the application fee either through online using Net Banking/Visa/Debit/Credit card or through offline mode by SBI Challan.
Candidates who successfully fill the application form will be issued the admit for the written exam. As per UPSC 2019 calendar, the written exam of CDS 1 is scheduled to be conducted on February 3, 2019. CDS exam is conducted twice a year in February and November for the recruitment of Commissioned Officers in Navy, Air Force, Army and Officers Training Academy (OTA).
