The authority has started the UP TET 2026 day 2 shift 2 exam at 2:30 pm. The shift 2 test will be conducted for a duration of 2.5 hours and will be concluded at 5:00 pm.

In Lucknow, around 19,734 candidates will appear in each session on both examination days. The UPTET 2026 examination has been planned with detailed arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the test at various examination centres.

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has begun the UP TET 2026 day 2 shift 1 today. The teacher eligibility test will be held from 9:30 am to 12 noon.

The UPTET 2026 day 2 shift 1 will begin from 9:30 am today. As per the official statement, artificial intelligence-enabled cameras have been installed at all examination centres and are being monitored in real time from the Integrated Command and Control Centre at the commission headquarters in Prayagraj.

Candidates are being allowed into examination halls only after thorough verification, including biometric authentication, while data analytics is being used to detect impersonation and prevent dummy candidates from appearing in place of registered applicants, the statement read.

The district administrations were assisting in the conduct of the examination and urged candidates not to be misled by rumours questioning the fairness of the recruitment process. "

More than 19.94 lakh candidates appeared for the UP TET 2026 day 1 exam on July 2, as per Prashant Kumar, chairperson of Bihar commission.

"The examination is being conducted after a gap of four years and is being organised for the first time by the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission. The three-day examination, scheduled July 2-4, is being held in five shifts across 955 examination centres in 60 districts," he said.

The UP TET 2026 exam will be conducted in dual shifts. The morning shift will be held from 9:30 am to 12 noon, while the afternoon shift will take place from 2:30 pm to 5 pm.

On July 4, only the first session of the UPTET 2026 examination will be administered in Lucknow. Around 17,518 candidates are scheduled to appear in this session of UPTET 2026.

In Lucknow, around 19,734 candidates will appear in each session on both examination days. The UPTET 2026 examination has been planned with detailed arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the test at various examination centres.

UPTET is conducted in two papers. Paper I is meant for candidates seeking to teach Classes 1 to 5 (Primary Level), while Paper II is for those aspiring to teach Classes 6 to 8 (Upper Primary Level). Of the 19,94,661 candidates appearing for UPTET 2026, 17,67,180 are from Uttar Pradesh, while 2,27,481 candidates are from other states. Varanasi will have the highest number of candidates, with 1,27,239 aspirants appearing at 68 examination centres. It is followed by Prayagraj, where 76,634 candidates will appear at 53 centres, and Lucknow, where 76,720 candidates will take the exam at 43 centres. Other districts with a high concentration of candidates include Gorakhpur, Kanpur Nagar, Meerut, Mau, Moradabad, Agra and Jaunpur.

According to the state government, a total of 19,94,661 aspirants have registered to appear for the eligibility test, making it one of the largest teacher recruitment examinations in the country.

Reviewing the preparations, Adityanath also asked the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission to conduct a separate Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for in-service teachers, saying they should receive adequate opportunities to meet the mandatory eligibility requirement without being disadvantaged by limited chances.

While reviewing exam arrangements, chief minister Yogi Adityanath said conducting the examination is not just an administrative task but a responsibility towards safeguarding the future of the youth. He directed officials to ensure candidates face no inconvenience related to transport, accommodation, security or other basic facilities during the UPTET 2026, scheduled for July 2–4.

Uttar Pradesh TET paper 1 is conducted for candidates aspiring to teach Classes 1 to 5. Paper 2 is for those seeking eligibility to teach Classes 6 to 8. The examination will be held in Hindi and English for around 19.94 lakh candidates. Candidates wishing to teach both levels must appear for both papers. 

The commission has prohibited the use of items such as whitener, blades and erasers inside the examination hall. Candidates have also been advised to correctly fill the serial number of the question paper, as answer sheets with incorrect or missing details may not be evaluated.

The UPTET 2026 admit card has been released by the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board in online mode on June 30, 2026. Candidates can use their registration number and password to download the UPTET 2026 admit card on the official website.

As per the latest update, Yogi government has decided to grant special leave to serving teachers of the Basic Education Department appearing for the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test-2026 on July 2, 3, and 4, 2026.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ensures that the fairness, transparency and credibility of the UPTET-2026 examination are not compromised under any circumstances. CM stated that no candidate appearing for the examination should face any difficulty due to lack of transportation, accommodation, security or other basic facilities.

Candidates who are appearing for the UPTET 2026 exam will have to carry one of the valid prescribed photo ID proofs along with the Admit card:
