Uttarakhand announces holiday tomorrow for female employees in offices, educational institutions
Uttarakhand government has declared holiday females for all offices, educational institutions in view of Karwa Chauth festival 2023.

NEW DELHI: The Uttarakhand government has announced a holiday for female employees in all government and non-government organizations and all educational institutions tomorrow, November 1 on account of the festival of Karwa Chauth.
Vinod Kumar Suman, secretary of the department of general administration in the state informed that the governor has given his approval to the holiday.
“The Governor gladly approves the declaration of November 1, 2023 (Wednesday) as a public holiday for Karva Chauth festival for the women employees working in government/non-government offices/educational institutions/government establishments under the state of Uttarakhand,” said Vinod Kumar Suman, secretary, general administration department in an official notification.
Karwa Chauth is celebrated every year by the married women of the country for the safety and longevity of their husbands. On this day, the females are on a fast and some do not even consumer water throughout the day and thus the state has announced a holiday.
