VGU wins bronze medal in American football competition during inter university championship

Vivekananda Global University football team got third place in football competition during championship hosted by Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University.
NEW DELHI : Vivekananda Global University (VGU)’s students won a bronze medal in the American football competition in the All India Inter-University Championship hosted by Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University. The championship was organised from February 8 to 12.
A total of 44 teams participated in the football competition. Of which, 36 flag football teams and 8 tackle football teams participated, in which the VGU football team got third position. The VGU team achieved this “milestone” under the leadership of coach Ravi Rao and captain Suresh Bhatesar. The team's main receiver, Dheeraj Kumawat, was awarded the Most Valuable Player award in the competition for his brilliant performance.

Mukesh Loyal, Tarun Pratap Singh, Sachin Singh, Samadhan Mangate, Nilesh Netwal, and other players joined the team. After three years, a team defeated the opposing team by a resounding 30-6 score, as per an official statement from the university.
Lokesh Kadwasara, a player who was a part of the team, while sharing his experience of the competition, said, "This victory is the result of the hard work of our team for three months, day and night." The team’s quarterback, Ravi Bhatesar, said: "The team performed better than the practice matches during the tournament."

“The VGU team earned this position by defeating last year's medalist team and qualifying for the semi-finals. Our team promises that next time, with more hard work, we will bring a gold medal to the university,” the official VGU statement added.
