JECA 2026: Students can submit their OBC certificate on the official website, wbjeeb.nic.in/jeca/ to avail the 7% reservation benefit
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has asked Joint Entrance for Computer Applications (JECA 2026) applicants to submit their OBC certificates to avail the 7% reservation benefit for admissions to MCA courses.
Eligible students can submit their OBC certificate on the official website, wbjeeb.nic.in/jeca/, by June 19. Candidates will have to log in using their application credentials on the facility provided to submit the reservation certificate.
WBJEEB has directed students to submit OBC certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format and in accordance with the extant government orders at the time of counselling and the document verification process.
“No request for further declaration, modification or inclusion of OBC Class shall be entertained after closure of the portal as edit option will remain available till the closure of the portal. Therefore, all eligible candidates are advised to complete the declaration process well before the last date,” the official WBJEEB notice said.
Earlier, a government notice, accessible on JECA’s official website, also clarified that having a paternal OBC certificate will not allow candidates to avail the benefits. Only candidates belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer who submit a valid OBC-NCL certificate issued by the competent authority will be eligible for reservation benefits.
JECA 2026 entrance exam was conducted on June 14 across the state. WBJEEB conducts the common entrance test JECA 2026 and counselling for admission into the master of computer application (MCA) course in various institutions across West Bengal for the academic session 2026-27.
