Students had to secure minimum 33 percent marks in theory and practical exams separately. Along with marks and grades, CBSE also mentions abbreviations and short forms on scorecards, including “RT”, “COMP”, “ABST”, and “RW”. In CBSE results, RT stands for “Repeat Theory”. It means that a student has not passed the theory examination in a particular subject. He/she has to reappear for just theory exam and not the practical.

| ABST | Absent | Student was absent for the exam |
| COMP | Compartment | Student has been placed in compartment category |

| ESSENTIAL REPEAT | Essential Repeat | Student needs to repeat the examination/year as per rules |
| UFM | Unfair Means | Candidate was booked under unfair means/malpractice |
| N.E. | Not Eligible | Student was not eligible for the exam/result |
| R.W. | Result Withheld | Result has been withheld by the board |
Steps to check CBSE result on UMANG app
One must download UMANG app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to access marksheets.
- Log in or sign up using your mobile number
- Enter your name and set up your profile
- Type or search "CBSE" and look for the "Categories" section and select "Education"
- Inside the CBSE section, click on "12th" or "Marksheet/Results."
- Choose "Class XII", select year
- Input your roll Number, school Number, and admit card ID as mentioned on your official admit card.
- Click on the "Submit" or "Get Result."
