‘Will not cancel Kerala Class 11 exams 2021’: Govt tells Supreme Court

Kerala Government told the Supreme Court today that it has decided not to cancel the Class 11 exams 2021. The Kerala plus one exams are scheduled to be held in September 2021. The Kerala government said that the cancellation of exams “will affect the future of students”. The apex court had yesterday asked the Kerala government to inform its response on the cancellation of exams.

A petition was filed by child rights activist Anubha Shrivastava Sahai for the cancellation of state board exams due to the ongoing global pandemic. A bench of Justices AM Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari were hearing the petition and asked the Kerala government “why they still did not cancel the Class 11 exams”.
Earlier this month, CBSE has cancelled the Class 12 board exams. Afterwards, many other states have decided to cancel the exams due to COVID-19. CBSE and CISCE have also released the evaluation criteria board exam results 2021. The final hearing on a petition challenging the cancellation of Class 12 physical exams and their evaluation criteria is scheduled for today.
