NEW DELHI: Around 10 jobs seekers registered a case for allegedly getting duped for Rs 13.4 lakh in Thane, Maharashtra. A case has been registered against three persons under relevant provisions. As per the police, seekers were promised jobs at a civic hospital in Maharashtra's Thane city.

As per the complaint made by the victims, the accused had been taking money from them since January 2023. The payments were done online, promising them jobs in the x-ray building department of a civic-run hospital.

Additionally, officials mentioned the fabricated documents have been issued by the Thane municipal commissioner, offer letters, training and joining letters. Moreover, the racket was exposed when victims approached the police and met senior officials to check the genuineness of the letters.

An official from the Naupada police station says, based on the complaints of one of the victims, a case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita has been registered. The names of the accused are Mohammad Raza Abdul Rashid Sheikh, Abhjit Kulkarni, and Prakash Durve.
