7.47 lakh new jobs generated for youths in November 2023 as per ESIC data: Government
15.92 lakh new employees got registered under the Employment State Insurance scheme, said the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

NEW DELHI : 7.47 lakh employees up to the age of 25 years have been enrolled under the Employees State Insurance (ESI) scheme in the month of November 2023 showing creation of more jobs for youths, as per the provisional payroll data of Employees State Insurance Corporation shared by the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
The ESIC data shared by the employment ministry revealed that a total of 15.92 lakh new employees have been added in the insurance scheme. The youth makes 47 percent of the total registrations made in November 2023.
“The provisional payroll data of ESIC reveals that 15.92 lakh new employees have been added in the month of November, 2023,” said an official statement from the ministry. “Data evidently reveals that more jobs have been generated for the youth of the nation as out of the total 15.92 lakh employees added during the month, 7.47 lakh employees amounting to 47% of the total registrations are up to the age group of 25 years,” it stated.
Upon analyzing the ESIC payroll data in terms of gender, the ministry found out that 3.17 lakh workers are women while 58 transgender employees got enrolled under the ESI scheme. “It shows that ESIC is committed to deliver its benefits to every section of the society,” the ministry added.
The government further informed that as per the ESIC data, around 20,830 new establishments have also been added and brought under the social security umbrella of the scheme in November 2023 “thus ensuring coverage to more workers.”
While sharing the data on the number of workers under ESI, the Ministry of Labour and Employment said that the payroll data is provisional as the generation of data is a continuous process.
