UP Police Constable Exam 2026: More than 28.86 lakh candidates have applied for the recruitment process; Exam on June 8, 9, and 10 at 1,183 centres across 75 districts

The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) will begin the UP police constable direct recruitment exam 2026 today for 32,679 posts in the state. UP police constable exam 2026 will be conducted at 1,183 exam centres across 75 districts of the state on June 8, 9 and 10.
For the UP Police Constable Exam 2026, a total of 28,86,797 candidates have applied for 32,679 posts under the recruitment process. To ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the examination, 1,183 examination centres have been established across the state by UPPRPB.
Candidates appearing for the exam can download the UP police constable admit card 2026 on the official website, uppbpb.gov.in, using their application number, password and security captcha.
The UP police constable 2026 examination will be conducted in two shifts each day. The first shift will be held from 10 am to 12 noon, while the second shift will be conducted from 3 pm to 5 pm.
Notably, candidates will also be given an additional five minutes beyond the prescribed duration to complete the question paper.
The written exam will consist of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) carrying a total of 300 marks. Each question will be worth 2 marks. Candidates will get two hours (120 minutes) to complete the exam.

According to PTI reports, the director general of the recruitment board S B Shiradkar said that approximately 481,416 candidates are set to appear in each shift. The board, police department and district authorities have made extensive preparations to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination.
"Security arrangements at examination centres have been strengthened, and special measures have been put in place for candidate identification and entry procedures," the board said.
UPPRPB said that CCTV surveillance systems have been installed, and static magistrates, supervisors, and police personnel have been deployed at the exam centres. Also, special arrangements have been made to maintain law and order in the areas around the examination centres.
As per ANI media report, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that candidates appearing in the UP Police recruitment examination will be eligible for a 50% concession on bus fares, provided they present their admit cards.
The Uttar Pradesh Government has introduced this initiative to ease the financial burden on aspirants appearing in the recruitment drive.
