Try NowNew Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday extended its support to the nationwide protests called by the CJP regarding its demand for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation. Senior party leader Gopal Rai urged party workers to join the demonstrations without carrying party flags or banners.
In a video message posted on X, Rai alleged that the BJP-led Centre resorted to a lathi-charge on students participating in the agitation and said the protests were organised over the demand for Pradhan's resignation. He said the CJP had issued a nationwide call for protests and announced that the AAP would extend full support to the demonstrations.
Calling it a fight for the future of the country's youth, Rai urged party workers to continue supporting the agitation until Pradhan resigns from his post. The CJP-led agitation demanding accountability over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, reforms in the education system and the resignation of Pradhan started on June 20.
