AICTE invites applications for National Awards for empowerment of Persons with Disabilities

Students, staff, faculty members, institutions can nominate on the official portal – awards.gov.in. The last date to apply is August 28.
NEW DELHI : The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has asked all technical institutes and universities to publicize National Awards for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities to get applications, nominations from PwD students, staff, and faculty. Candidates can apply or nominate on the official portal made by the Ministry of Home Affairs - awards.gov.in. The last date to apply is August 28. Candidates will be awarded on December 3 on the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
AICTE’s latest notification reads, “An advertisement for inviting applications for the National Awards for the year 2021 and also for the year 2022 has been published in the national/regional dailies dated 14th July, 2022. Accordingly, the applications/nominations for the Awards have been invited through online mode only on the password protected centralized portal designed by the Ministry of Home Affairs ( www.awards.gov.in ). The online nomination/application has started from 15th July 2022 and the last date fbr the nominations is 28th August' 2022”.

Candidates can check the guidelines for the national awards for persons with disabilities on the website of the department - disabilityaffairs.gov.in as well as award portal – awards.gov.in.
Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment. Government of lndia has instituted the “National Awards for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities" to focus public attention on issues concerning persons with disabilities and to promote their mainstreaming in to the society. These awards are conferred on 3rd December every year on the "lnternational Day of Persons with Disabilities”, to outstanding persons with disabilities, individuals and institutions that are working for the empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, added AICTE's statement.
