NEW DELHI: All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has revised the academic calendar 2021-22 for technical institutions offering engineering and other courses as well as standalone PGDM or PGCM institutions that offer postgraduate diplomas in management. The technical education regulator had revised the schedule at the end of June due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As per AICTE’s new academic calendar, the classes for existing students of technical courses will commence latest by October 1, 2021 and those for the first year students will start by October 25. Earlier, it was September 1 and September 15 for existing students and first year students, respectively.
Students who wish to cancel their seats for technical courses with full refund can now do so by October 15. The change in schedule follows the declaration of dates for the two remaining sessions of the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main 2021) for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes, BTech or BE. The two sessions will be held from July 20 to July 25 and July 27 to August 2, 2021.
Also, the last day to grant affiliation to technical institutions by university or board has been extended from July 15 to August 10, 2021.
In case of standalone PGDM or PGCM courses, the last date for grant of approval has been extended to July 15. Earlier, the date was June 30. There are no further changes in the calendar for these courses.
For open and distance learning (ODL) or online programmes, the last day to get admission is September 10. Earlier, the date was September 1, 2021.
