Amity Law School disaffiliated by GGSIPU; not participating in IPUCET Counselling

NEW DELHI, JUNE 13: Amity Law School Delhi (ALS) has been disaffiliated from its parent institution, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). Following the disaffiliation, the ALS Delhi will not be participating in the admission counselling of IPUCET for LLB programmes that is to commence from June 14, 2018.

In a notification dated, June 9, 2018, the Amity Law School, an institution of Ritnand Balved Education Foundation (RBEF) notified about the foundation’s decision to disaffiliate the law school with the University.

“…RBEF has decided to disaffiliate its institution, Amity Law School with the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, with immediate effect, before the academic session 2018-19. This has been conveyed to the University by RBEF vide it letter dated May 4, 2018, which has been acknowledged by the University,” stated the official notification signed by the Acting Director of Amity Law School.

Further, the notification also reads, “…the Amity Law School Delhi shall not be participating in the counselling and admission process, for the admissions in BA LLB (H) programme in the present academic session 2018-19 onwards, offered by the GGSIPU.”

The University acknowledges disaffiliation

In an another notification issued by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University on June 12, 2018, Prof Pravin Chandra, the University Admissions In-Charge says, “…in reference to letter dated, May 4, 2018, of President, Ritnand Balved Education Foundation (RBEF), no admission will be carried out in the academic session 2018-19 in the Amity Law School Delhi.”

Amity Law School Delhi was one of the 81 other private institutions affiliated to the University, which also serves as an umbrella university to another 35 government institutions.

With the effect of this, the IPUCET LLB 2018 test takers will now have an option of 12 other law schools under the University for admissions to five-year integrated law programmes including BA LLB and BBA LLB.

It is yet not sure, about the admission process to be carried out by ALS Delhi for its 300 BA LLB seats. Careers360 has mailed the Amity Law School officials and reply is awaited.
