The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam, has published the schedule for the third round of online counselling for admission into vacant postgraduate medical seats under the Assam state quota. The Assam NEET PG counselling will cover government medical colleges across Assam as well as Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI), Guwahati.

The counselling will be conducted strictly as per the medical colleges of Assam (Regulation of Admission into Post Graduate Degree and Diploma Courses) rules, 2021, as amended from time to time.

Candidates who appeared in NEET PG 2025, conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), and have secured the prescribed cut-off score are eligible to participate. Additionally, candidates must feature in the state provisional merit list published by DME Assam, with their names and NEET PG roll numbers duly reflected.

Candidates who have already registered and participated in the first and second rounds of state counselling are not required to register again. They will be allowed to directly participate in the choice filling process of the third round for fresh allotment or a change of college.

Assam NEET PG 2025: Counselling schedule and key dates

Online registration for the third round will be open from January 3 to January 5 (midnight) through the official website, dme.assam.gov.in. The choice filling window will be available from January 6 to January 7 until 5 pm. Choice locking will take place on January 7 between 4 pm and 11:55 pm, after which choices will be auto-locked.

The seat allotment process will be conducted from January 8 to January 10, and the results will be declared on January 11. Provisionally selected candidates must report to their allotted institutions for admission between January 16 and January 17.
