BHU Admission Fraud Alert: The university has clarified that all official admission communication is sent through admission.help@bhu.ac.in and admission@bhu.ac.in only.
Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has issued a public notice warning aspirants and students against fake WhatsApp messages claiming to offer admission opportunities. According to the university, such messages also include suspicious online links and URLs, which students are being asked to click.
BHU clarified that all official admission communication is sent only through two email addresses, including admission.help@bhu.ac.in and admission@bhu.ac.in. The university does not use WhatsApp to convey any admission-related information. Candidates are informed about admission status through their registered email IDs and student portals only.
“The university does not officially send WhatsApp messages for admission intimation or confirmation. These intimations are sent to the emails provided by the candidates in their respective online application forms and are updated on their student portal,” the institute said.

University not responsible for fraud: BHU
The university has asked applicants and students to remain cautious and not respond to unverified messages, which may be circulated by fraudulent individuals or groups. BHU has also advised students to regularly check their student portal and email accounts for updates and alerts related to admission.
For any admission-related information, students have been asked to rely only on the official admission webpage at bhu.ac.in. The university has stated it will not be responsible for any fraud arising out of interactions with these fake messages. “The university will not be responsible for any kind of fraud carried out through these fake messages,” it said.
The university has started the registration process for admission to undergraduate programmes for the 2025 academic year. Candidates who have qualified Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2025 can apply through the official websites — bhu.ac.in or bhucuet.samarth.edu.in — till July 31.
