BHU launches student well-being desk at Institute of Science
BHU faculty members will be present physically at the student well-being desk from 4 pm to 5 pm on all working days.

NEW DELHI: Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has launched a student well-being desk as part of the "Student Well-Being Initiative" at the Institute of Science. The initiative aims to provide support and guidance to students.
Under this initiative, BHU faculty members will be physically present at the desk from 4 pm to 5 pm on all working days and will engage in one-on-one sessions with students to offer valuable insights and support. The student well-being desk will help students seeking guidance and counselling. The desk is situated on the ground floor of the New Lecture Theatre Complex Building of the Institute.

The university has established a dedicated email address, wellbeing.isc@bhu.ac.in for the students so that they can easily communicate whenever in need of advice. This will serve as an additional resource for students to reach out for assistance in case of academic as well as emotional guidance.
The "Student Well-Being Initiative" aims to understand the needs of students and provide them counselling accordingly. Along with the academic guidance, the desk will also focus on addressing students' psychological, emotional, physical, and mental well-being.

The BHU in a statement said,” The initiative will offer one-on-one counselling to students to help them develop healthy behaviors, manage their physical and mental health and navigate the challenges and stress in the course of their studies, if any. ”
