Last month, state Education Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary had said “the reopening of educational institutes will be done in a phased manner if the situation continues to improve in the state,” as per a report of Hindustan Times. In the first phase, colleges and universities will be allowed to resume classes, high schools to reopen in the second phase while primary and middle schools will reopen in the third phase.

Schools and colleges have remained closed since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In October, the schools and colleges were reopened but the government had to be shut down again due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases.

During the closure of schools and colleges, several states have also cancelled the board exams. The results of board exams 2021 will be declared on the basis of internal assessments and last qualifying exam marks. The Supreme Court had also asked the regional boards to announce the results by July 31, 2021.
