BIT Mesra launches MA in liberal arts, applications open till May 31; fees Rs 34,800-38,000 per semester

The Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, has announced the launch of an interdisciplinary Master of Arts (MA) in liberal arts, to be offered by its department of humanities and social sciences. The fee for the programme is Rs 34,800 per semester for the first year and Rs 38,000 per semester for the second year.
The online application process for the programme commenced on February 27, and the last date for submission of applications is May 31. Candidates can apply through the institute’s official website at bitmesra.ac.in.
In an official announcement, BIT Mesra said that the two-year postgraduate programme is structured across four semesters and is designed to integrate humanities, social sciences, digital systems and emerging technologies within a unified academic framework.
The institute added that the programme is intended to prepare graduates for diverse career pathways, including research, policy, media, development sectors, academia and emerging technology-driven domains.
BIT Mesra MA Liberal Arts: Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for the course are as follows:

Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree (BA, BSc, B Com, B Tech, B E, or equivalent) from a recognised university in any discipline.

Minimum Marks: Minimum 55% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA for General,Unreserved candidates and 50% for SC,ST candidates.

CGPA,grade conversion: For candidates evaluated under a CGPA or grading system, percentage equivalence will be calculated as per the formula prescribed by the awarding university.

Final-Year Applicants: Students currently in the final year of their bachelor’s programme may apply provisionally. Admission will be confirmed only upon submission of proof of completing the qualifying degree with the required minimum marks within the stipulated deadline set by the institute.

Foreign,Equivalent Degrees: Applicants holding degrees from foreign universities must ensure equivalence as per UGC norms and submit the necessary equivalence certification when required.

Go to the official website of BIT Mesra and find ‘M.A Liberal Arts’ in the academics section.

Click on “Apply Now” to register for the programme and create a password for the application process. Keep your password confidential.

Applications must be submitted online only by eligible candidates.

Pay the application fee (Rs 1,500 for General,OBC-NCL,General-EWS candidates and Rs 1,000 for SC,ST candidates) through the online payment gateway.

The application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
