British Council Women in STEM scholarship applications open; apply by March 31
The scholarship is awarded to female students who wish to pursue masters in STEM in a UK university. Eligible candidates can apply at britishcouncil.org.

NEW DELHI : The Ministry of Education (MoE) has announced that applications are open for British Council Women in STEM scholarships. Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarships on the official website – britishcouncil.org. The last date to apply for the scholarship is March 31.
“The British Council Women in STEM Scholarships are awarded to women who wish to pursue postgraduate study in science, technology, engineering or maths (STEM) at a university in the UK who can demonstrate their need for financial support and who wish to inspire future generations of women to pursue careers in STEM,” said an official notice from the MoE’s higher education department on the official website of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The scholarship programme is working in partnership with 19 UK universities and includes benefits of academic prestige, financial support including tuition fees, stipend, travel costs, visa and health coverage, special support for mothers and English language support.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a woman
- Hold permanent residence of India
- Have completed all components of an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry onto a postgraduate programme at a UK university partner by the time you submit your application and be due to start your postgraduate programme in the UK.
- Have not previously studied at degree level or higher in the UK or lived recently in the UK.
- Meet the English language requirement of the UK university partner.
- Demonstrate case for financial support.
- Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your scholarship award has ended
“It may be noted that the Ministry of Education, Government of India has no role in nomination or selection of the candidates. This notice is put up for wider public dissemination of information purpose only,” the education ministry added.
