NEW DELHI: As many as 1,000 startups by Delhi school students have been shortlisted for the second round of the Business Blasters programme of the Delhi Government. These student-led startups were selected out of 51,000 startup ideas that were submitted to the Delhi Government. After the second round, 100 startups will be shortlisted for the third round of the programme.

According to Manish Sisodia, deputy chief minister of Delhi, 600 individuals have so far volunteered to invest 11 crores in various business ideas of these students.
“Student entrepreneurs from the Business Blasters programme of the Arvind Kejriwal government will bring back the country’s tag of “Sone Ki Chidiya” in future. They will build companies where students from all across the world will dream to work”, said Sisodia.

“The business blaster programme by the Delhi government is the first ever school startup program on such a large scale,” said a statement from the Delhi government.
Sisodia further said that with India’s huge youth populations, the country can grow into a developed nation. In order to make this possible, entrepreneurship mentality should be cultivated in the minds of the youngsters of the country.
Entrepreneurs, Ritesh Malik and Swati Bhargava shared insights regarding business with the Delhi government school students to succeed in business during the masterclass event. “This is the right time for startups in India to grow. People of India are able and talented, and will rule the world with technology,” said Malik. Malik is the founder of Innov8 Coworking, while Bhargava is the co-founder of CaskKaro.com.
