CAT 2021: Registration starting today at 10 am; Know what documents to be kept ready and how to apply

NEW DELHI: IIM Ahmedabad will open the CAT exam registration window today at 10 am. Eligible candidates can fill the CAT 2021 application form till September 15 at the official website of IIM CAT, iimcat.ac.in. The CAT registration fee is Rs 1,100 for SC, ST, and PwD category candidates and Rs 2,200 for all other candidates. It must be noted that a candidate is not required to pay any fee except the CAT registration one, irrespective of the number of institutes he/ she is applying for.

As per the official CAT 2021 notification, Common Admission Test (CAT) will be conducted on November 28, 2021, in three test slots on a single day. Also, while filling the CAT exam application form, candidates will be given an option to choose six test cities from 158 CAT test cities spread across India.

Who is eligible to fill the CAT 2021 registration form?

• The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA, awarded by any recognized University or educational institution.

• Candidates appearing for the final year of their graduation and are awaiting results can also fill IIM CAT 2021 application form.

Documents to be kept ready before filling the CAT exam application form

The students filling out the CAT application form 2021 must ensure that they keep these documents and enclosures ready before they start applying for CAT. The list is as follows:

• Documents related to an academic qualification such as class 10 and 12 mark sheet and graduation mark-sheet

• If in the final year of bachelor’s degree, candidates must have the final year certificate from the HoD/ Principal and also the previous year’s mark sheet

• Date of Birth certificate

• Address proof

• Caste category certificate (if applicable)

• PwD category certificate (if applicable)

• Scribe certificate (if applicable)

• Credit/ debit card or net banking credentials

• Work experience document, if any

• Keep ready the list of the IIM programmes to which you wish to apply and the preferred interview cities for them, before you fill in the CAT application form.

• Scanned images of passport size photographs and signature

Steps to fill IIM CAT application form 2021

Step 1: Visit the official website of IIM CAT i.e. iimcat.ac.in

Step 2: Click on the 'Registered Candidate Login' option which is provided on the right side of the homepage.

Step 3: Candidates will be redirected to another window.

Step 4: Provide the generated CAT user ID and password to fill the CAT application form

Step 5: Create your profile with true and correct information. In the CAT application form 2021, there are five windows in which details such as personal details, academic qualifications, work experience, programmes, test city of preference must be filled.

Step 6: Submit the CAT exam application form after providing all the necessary details.

Step 7: Make an online payment through net banking/ credit card/ debit card. The CAT 2021 application fee payment partners are BillDesk and PayU.
