CBSE 12th Results 2023: KVs' pass percentage drops 4.53 points, govt schools by 10 points

NEW DELHI: The overall performance of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 students has dropped this year. The overall pass percentage of government schools dipped by 10 percentage points compared to last year. The board has declared CBSE Class 12 results 2023 for a total of 16,60,511 students who appeared in the board exam.

The government, govt-aided schools used to secure the lowest pass percentage in the pre-COVID period. However, the pass percentage significantly improved post-COVID due to the two-term exams and alternate assessment criteria used by the board to declare results.

The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV) also saw a slight dip in the overall pass percentage. On the other hand, the pass percentage of Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) dropped by 4.53 percentage points.
