CBSE issues syllabus 2023-24; Class 10, 12 sample papers, marking scheme

NEW DELHI : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued Class 10, 12 syllabus for the academic year 2023-24. Along with CBSE 2023-24 syllabus, the board has also issued CBSE sample papers 2023 and marking scheme. Students will be able to check CBSE new syllabus 2023-24 and subject-wise sample papers, marking scheme on the official academic website – cbseacademic.nic.in.
Issuing the new syllabus 2023-24, CBSE said, “It is important that schools ensure curriculum transactions as per the directions given in the initial pages of the Curriculum document. The subjects should be taught as per the curriculum given by suitably incorporating strategies such as Art-Integrated Education, Experiential Learning, Pedagogical Plans, etc. wherever possible.”

The board said that it has adopted the National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage (NCFFS) 2022 and advised the schools offering foundational or preparatory education to adhere to the recommendations regarding curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, and other areas described in detail in the NCF as well as the board guidelines issued from time to time.
About sample papers and marking scheme, CBSE stated that the details for each subject for Classes 10, 12 are available on the official website and reflect the changes in the new curriculum. The sample papers include weightage given to each topic in a specific subject.

“SQPs also provide students with an idea of the exam pattern and the type of questions that may be asked in the actual examination in order to ensure transparency and reduce stress. Students will also get a clear understanding of the weightage of different topics and the marking scheme to be followed by going through these sample question papers,” the board said.
How to check CBSE 2023-24 syllabus Class 10, 12?
- Visit the official academic website of CBSE – cbseacademic.nic.in
- On the homepage, click on the ‘curriculum vitae’ tab and click on curriculum 2023-24 from the dropdown menu
- Click on the secondary curriculum tab for Class 10 and senior secondary curriculum tab for the Class 12 syllabus.
- Select the subject from the dropdown menu
- CBSE academic syllabus 2023-24 PDF will appear on the screen.
- Download the PDF for future use
For downloading sample papers, students will have to click on the ‘Sample question paper’ tab and click on SQP 2023-24 from the drop down menu. Subject-wise sample question papers and marking schemes will be displayed. Students can click on the required subject and download the PDF.
