CBSE Syllabus 2022-23: The two-term system introduced by CBSE during the COVID-19 pandemic period has been discontinued.
NEW DELHI: The Class 10, 12 syllabi of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is not divided into two terms for the 2022-23 academic year, as per the new syllabus announced by CBSE for Classes 9, 10, 11 and 12. The two-term system introduced by CBSE during the COVID-19 pandemic period has been discontinued by the board in the CBSE syllabus 2022-23. The CBSE curriculum for the academic year 2022-23 can be downloaded from the CBSE official website -- cbseacademic.nic.
During the COVID-19 second wave, CBSE had to resort to alternative assessment methods to evaluate students. To avoid such a situation, the board introduced a two-term system, where two exams were conducted by CBSE. The CBSE term 1 exam was conducted for Classes 10 and 12 in the months of November and December of 2021. While CBSE term 2 exams are scheduled to be conducted in April-May 2022. Such a method was adopted to ensure that the board has at least one exam by the end of the academic year to assess the students' performance.

"The Assessment scheme will have an 80 marks component for Board examination (class X) and Annual Examination (class IX) in all subjects except compulsory subjects to be assessed internally along with a 20 marks component of Internal Assessment.," says the CBSE syllabus 2022-23 Class 10, 9.
