CBSE announces NISHTHA courses for teachers, 845+ virtual labs at DIKSHA platform

New teacher training programmes and curriculum-linked digital resources are available through NISHTHA and DIKSHA
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued two circulars on the official website of CBSE at cbse.gov.in. In one circular, the board has announced a fresh set of NISHTHA courses for teachers and school heads for 2026-27 and in the second circular the board has highlighted more than 845 curriculum-aligned virtual labs and digital learning resources available through the DIKSHA platform.
The NISHTHA courses are being offered under Category II (Proficiency Courses) and Category III (Advanced Courses) during Cycle 1, which runs from April to October 2026. The programme is aimed at strengthening the professional competencies of teachers, school heads and teacher educators and supporting improved teaching and learning practices.
Under Category II, NISHTHA FLN and NISHTHA ECCE are available for school heads and teachers working with students at the Foundational and Preparatory stages, up to Grade 5. The enrollment closing date is August 31, 2026 and the course closing date is September 15, 2026.
NISHTHA offers advanced courses for teachers
The category III is open for all school heads and teachers. It includes courses such as cyber hygiene practices: personal digital devices, environmental hazards of electronic waste (E-waste), action research and catch the rain in English and Hindi.

DIKSHA hosts 845 plus virtual labs
As per the second notice, more than 845 curriculum-aligned virtual labs and related digital learning resources are available through DIKSHA. The repository has been developed through CIET-NCERT by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, with the resources mapped to NCERT curricula, learning outcomes, classes, subjects and chapters.
Most of the virtual labs are related to science and mathematics. They can be accessed through the DIKSHA portal and mobile application, where they are organised according to grade, subject and chapter.

Students can also access the virtual labs and associated digital resources through different sources, including OR codes provided in NCERT textbooks chapters, AI-powered Ask DIKSHA feature, DIKSHA personalized Adaptive Learning (PAL) courses.
